Titled Purple Dandelion, the book published by Exisle Publishing, is basically the story of Farida’s life, interwoven with the lives of many other survivors of domestic violence and those who took a stand against violence.
We are pleased to inform you that in the very first week of sale, Purple Dandelion has made it to Nielsen’s top 10 International Bestsellers’ List. The main reason for writing this book has been to highlight the issues of domestic violence and social oppression that happen within communities and the need for appropriate women’s refuge services, especially in Asian, African and Middle Eastern countries. A percentage of the proceeds of Purple Dandelion will go towards the project Women Against Violence which has begun work internationally in promoting women’s right to live life without fear and violence.
